Wild Places

WCS India works across the country in diverse landscapes and to conserve diverse species. In the south, we are engaged in supporting the governments of Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra for the protection of wildlife and wild spaces. Studying lion-tailed macaque ecology, elephant distribution, carrying capacity studies, conservation of endangered species and supporting voluntary relocation of forest dwelling communities are some of the projects we are involved in. In the northern and north-east parts of the country, our teams are working on turtle and dolphin conservation, landscape connectivity, elephant monitoring and so on. Our CWT team conducts training workshops to counter wildlife trafficking across the entire landscape.
