About us: Wildlife Conservation Society-India (WCS-India) stands for wildlife and wild places. We envision a world where wildlife thrives in healthy lands and seas, valued by societies that embrace and benefit from the diversity and integrity of life on earth. WCS-India’s objectives encompass a range of ecosystems and species across the country – from the dense forests of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and the tropical deciduous forests of Eastern Ghats, to the arid grasslands of Rajasthan, from the unique riverine habitats of the north and northeast India landscape to the vibrant coral reefs of the Lakshadweep Islands. We also work in urban landscapes like Mumbai where people and leopards interact at close quarters. WCS–India combines cutting-edge research on tigers and other wildlife, with national capacity building and effective site-based interventions to achieve wildlife conservation.
