About the Project:
Human-Wildlife Interaction in Mumbai Metropolitan Region: The Human-Wildlife Interactions Program seeks to understand the complex relationships between humans and wild animals, focusing on leopard-human and macaque-human interactions in urban landscapes. This project aims to develop management interventions informed by scientifically robust data on the behaviour, population dynamics, movement patterns, and human interactions of leopards and macaques. We actively engage and collaborate with stakeholders to foster an environment of coexistence through outreach and capacity-building initiatives based on our scientific findings.
The Position: Admin consultant This is an entry level position suitable for individuals with up to one year of experience in office administration and accounting . While a background in wildlife conservation is not required, an interest in fieldwork is highly valued.
Job Responsibilities:
- Efficiently manage field office operations and maintain accurate project records.
- Manage budgets, track expenses, for cost-effective operations.
- Handle administrative responsibilities for research projects, including managing resource materials and office supplies, and coordinating with vendors.
- Maintain equipment/asset lists, vehicle logs, and timesheets for the research team at the field station.
- Maintain attendance sheets and other admin-related assignments for the projects.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- One year experience in social sector space
- Organizing skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Willingness to travel in and around Mumbai, for Project Work
- Preferably in and around commuting distance of Mira Road / Borivali location.
Compensation
Commensurate with candidate qualification, experience and project norms. Candidates will be provided with opportunities to upgrade their skills/capacity as required, access to a laptop, and travel allowance for project related trips.
