The Student Conference on Conservation Science (SCCS) - Bengaluru, held from October 21-24 at the J N Tata Auditorium, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, brought together students, post-docs, and early-career professionals in conservation from across the natural and social sciences. The event featured a range of conservation-focused workshops, plenary talks, student posters and oral presentations, and interactive activities.
Members of the WCS-India team actively participated, engaging with attendees at our stalls and through various talks and poster sessions:
1. Ms. Vanishree from the Urban Biodiversity Programme presented her poster on “Monkeys in a Metro: Examining the Human-Bonnet Macaque Interface in a Rapidly Urbanising India”
2. Mr. Veerendra Naidu shared his research, “Pugmarks among Footprints: Persistence of Mammalian Carnivores in the Human-Dominated Landscape of Tungareshwar Wildlife Sanctuary, Maharashtra”
3. Ms. Alissa Barnes co-conducted a workshop titled “Across the shark-verse”
4. Ms. Aditi Rajan presented at “Art Meets Science”, a collaborative session hosted by Current Conservation
