This is to confirm that Ms. Prakriti Srivastava has left WCS-India. During her tenure with WCS-India, Ms. Srivastava had many outstanding conservation achievements. These include the creation of a program that supports the Government of India’s laudable efforts to counter illegal wildlife trafficking, the creation of a technical team to support efforts to conserve the Great Indian Bustard, the strengthening of efforts to support the livelihoods of communities living near critical wildlife habitat, and multiple initiatives aimed at improving the conservation and sustainable use of marine wildlife and resources. Ms. Srivastava recognized the essential role of the Government in conservation in India and she worked tirelessly to find ways for WCS-India to support and enhance the Government of India’s wide-ranging wildlife conservation efforts. WCS-India sincerely thanks Ms. Srivastava for her dedication, her insights, and her hard work for the conservation of India’s wildlife. We wish her well in her future endeavors.
We would like to announce Venu Parameshwar as the interim Country Program Manager for WCS-India. In this role Venu will assume all management responsibilities previously covered by the WCS-India Country Director and all related staff management reporting structures. Venu has been with WCS-India for several years as a member of Senior Staff. He has a deep understanding of the program and will provide the necessary leadership and guidance through this period of transition.
