Mridula works with WCS-India as a Legal Advisor with a focus on wild life law. After completing her B.B.A., L.L.B at Symbiosis Law School, Pune in 2016, she has been involved in environmental litigation before the National Green Tribunal and various other courts over the past two years. She has taken on litigation against large development projects, which threaten to destroy Protected Areas in various states. Her primary area of litigation has been Environment Impact Assessments and forest law with the aim of conserving landscapes.
Her overarching interest is in bridging the gap between the law and the field, striving towards plugging legal loopholes and better implementation of environmental laws in India.
Faisal is a Law officer in the CWT Legal program. Faisal has completed his Bachelors in Management Studies (B.M.S) and Masters in Public Policy (M.P.P) from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, following which he pursued his LLB at the Government Law College, Mumbai. Prior to joining WCS-India, Faisal has interned with a diverse set of organisations ranging from research institutes such as the World Resources Institute to environmental advocacy groups like the Earth Law Centre. His interests include a wide array of environmental issues but he is most passionate about biodiversity conservation, specifically the ramifications that law and policy have on threatened species.
After gaining experience in the field of environmental law both in the United States and India, Maneka is a Legal Officer- Research and Planning. She provides legal support for all wildlife related matters. In her free time she writes articles and conduct researches in the field of environment as a member of the IUCN - WCEL group.
Nishtha joined WCS India in 2019. After graduating from National Law University, Delhi in 2017, she has worked as a Research Associate to Dr. Nupur Chowdhury at the Centre for the Study of Law and Governance, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi and as a Legal Researcher to a judge in the Delhi High Court. At WCS-India, she will be part of the Combatting Wildlife Trafficking team.
She works as a Legal Trainer for Counter Wildlife Trafficking Program. Her role involves conducting legal capacity building workshops across India for Forest Department, Police, Customs Officials, Public Prosecutors, Judiciary
He is a practicing lawyer at the Supreme Court of India, High Court of Delhi and other judicial fora across India. He is also an Adjunct Faculty at Lloyd Law College, Greater Noida, where he teaches law of evidence. He is regularly invited as a panelist to speak on various legal and allied topics on national television.
Shubhra is a part of WCS-India's Legal Team under the aegis of the Combating Illegal Wildlife Trafficking Programme. She is engaged in legal research pertaining to Wildlife laws and the conviction rate analysis of wildlife cases in India. She is a voracious reader and loves animals.
